Xavier University of Louisiana women’s tennis team lost 4-0 to Georgia Gwinnett, Saturday in an NAIA ranked women’s tennis team matchup at the Grizzly Invitational. The Gold Nuggets’ final game of this event will begin today, Sunday at 10:00 am EST against #11 NAIA Lindsey Wilson.
As reported by the XULA website, the Grizzlies, runners-up and winners of the past six NAIA National Championships, ended the five-game hitting streak of the Gold Nuggets, who are in fifth place. Georgia Gwinnett clinched fifth singles court as Angel Carney defeated Valentina Largacha 6-2, 6-4.
Juliette Finch of the Gold Nuggets led No. 3 ITA NAIA singles Tereza Koplova 6-2, 2-3 as Carney clinched.
