With a bad team, you can have a completely different career

Serena Williams reveals one day she will sit down with her 5-year-old daughter Olympia and explain to her the importance of having a good team around her. Williams, a former 23-time Grand Slam champion, is widely considered one of the greatest players in tennis history.

Williams, who enjoyed a very long and successful career, believes that being surrounded by a good and strong group of people was one of the keys to her astonishing success. “How it’s important to have a really good team around you, and how you can have a good career if you have a good team around you and you can have a different career if you have a bad team around you.

And kinda amplifying that in her life as well—meaning your friends or the people that you talk to, you want to make sure that that’s quality,” Williams told E! News.

Williams had a hard time after ending her pro tennis career

Williams, who turned 41 in late September, put an end to her pro tennis career after the US Open.

Initially, it was hard for Williams because she felt she could still play the game at a very high level. Since retiring, Williams has been playing tennis occasionally at her home. “Actually, I did play the other day, and it’s just like, ‘There’s no way I shouldn’t be playing professional tennis.

Like, there’s literally no excuse.’ But I mean, I guess there is an excuse, right? It’s hard because when I’m playing I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, I’m pretty good at this. I can continue to do this,’ which not a lot of people can say,” Williams said.

During a recent appearance on CBS Mornings, Williams revealed she and her husband are “working on giving Olympia a sibling.” Also these days, Williams is focused on growing her businesses.
