Vanderbilt men’s team was defeated 4-1 against Florida Atlantic

Vanderbilt University men’s tennis team was defeated 4-1 against Florida Atlantic. Now Commodores will host Oklahoma State (11 a.m.) and Belmont (3:30 p.m.) today, on 19 February 2023.

Mitchell Deames (Vandy) vs. Hunter Robbins 3-3 unfinished Head Coach Ian Duvenhage explained: “We had a tough day, but we have to keep our heads up, keep competing hard and keep working to improve.” As reported by the Vanderbilt University website, the Owls earned a doubles victory on court 2 before Joubert Klopper and Macsen Sisam earned their fourth straight doubles victory, forcing a completion of the third doubles game.

Court 1 saw Siim Troost and Paul Wang compete for the tiebreak, but ultimately fell 7-6. Owls continued their momentum, grabbing their first singles point on court 4. The Commodores rallied, however, with Nathan Cox taking straight sets (6-4, 6-3) to claim a point for Vandy .

Florida Atlantic then picked up a third point on field 3 and the deciding point on field 1, with Klopper going down just short of the tiebreak.
