Stan Wawrinka hints Alexander Bublik will be contacted by Yonex to pay for the three rackets he smashed during his Montpellier first-round match. Bublik, who captured his first ATP title in Montpellier 12 months ago, had his Montpellier title defence come to an end in the first round.
Down 6-0 in the third-set tie-break to Gregoire Barrere, Bublik lost his cool and smashed three rackets in a span of few seconds. Wawrinka, who is also using the Yonex racket brand, reacted on Twitter. “Yonex will send him a little invoice too,” Wawrinka tweeted.

Wawrinka plays Bublik in the Rotterdam first round
Meanwhile, Wawrinka is set to meet Bublik in the Rotterdam first round.
Very likely, Wawrinka arrived in Rotterdam in good spirits. Last weekend, Wawrinka made his first Davis Cup appearance since 2015. In the fifth and decisive match of the Switzerland and Germany Davis Cup qualifiers tie, Wawrinka beat Daniel Altmaier 6-3 5-7 6-4.
In the fourth rubber, Marc-Andrea Huesler upset Alexander Zverev to force a fifth rubber. After securing victory for Switzerland in the fifth match, Wawrinka gave credit to Huesler for giving him a chance to seal the win for their country.
“Marc-Andrea delivered an extraordinary match to give me the chance to play the decisive singles. It is thanks to him and his two victories we were still alive. The urge is there. I loved spending this week with this team.
But I have to be in good shape in September. Until then, I would like to have a good season and move up the rankings, of course. I want to help this team. I believe it has real potential with Huesler who knows how to deliver in the big matches, and Dominic Stricker and Leandro Riedi, who are on the way to asserting themselves.
Yes, there is plenty to do with this team,” Wawrinka said after clinching the key win for Switzerland. It remains to be seen if Wawrinka can now make a strong Rotterdam run.
