Diego Schwartzman (28th in the ATP ranking), top seed of the fifth edition of the Córdoba Open, gave a press conference prior to his debut in the event. The right-hander will begin his performance in the second round and awaits the outcome of the cross between his compatriot Juan Manuel Cerúndolo (119 °), champion of the tournament in 2021, and the Spanish Pablo Andújar (152 °) to meet the rival of him.
“My goal is to rediscover my good feelings on the pitch. I have great memories of Córdoba because I reached a final and a semifinal. “My father was hospitalised for three weeks and just came out yesterday. I spent two weeks spending hours in the clinic. They are not excuses, but perhaps I have less patience. I feel more frustration when playing. My personal situation affects.” He continued: “If you see me train, I’m doing very well, and that’s how I feel on a day-to-day basis, but when it comes to competing, I’m not feeling my moments.”
