Iga Swiatek: “People appreciate my honesty”

  • Post category:Tennis

Iga Swiatek was the authentic ruler of women’s tennis in the 2022 season. The Pole won two Slams, the Roland Garros and the US Open, as well as having put on a total of eight titles out of nine finals played. Such a high-sounding performance that she allowed her, as normal, to earn and then remain permanently in first place in the world rankings.

The beginning of 2023, for the Polish champion, was not the best with the defeat in the round of 16 against the finalist of the tournament Rybakina. In a long interview that she granted to the Tennis Majors channel, Swiatek spoke of a problem related to her personality, namely that of being very introverted but that this doesn’t necessarily have to be negative.

She explained: “I’m just myself, authentic, and I see that it works, because people appreciate my honesty, they know I’m a real person. I’m not trying to be a different person, I don’t have a magic fix for that. Perhaps there are people who can identify with me because they are introverts as well.

Not everyone is an extrovert, there is room for everyone.”

Swiatek also talked about her and her communication team

Returning to her 2022, Swiatek also spoke of business linked to her sports performance: “I have decided to create my own solution within my management to have a complementary team that supports my career.

I am working with IMG and still have my Polish team where my PR manager is in charge of my communications globally and my partnership manager is in charge of my Polish deals. I am from Poland and currently have the biggest impact there and it is important for me to use it well.

This year we will have some exciting news. Their assistance is also very valuable in the daily life of the Tour. They have a great team and resources that make my life much easier and help me focus on tennis.” The Polish tennis player who in the past weeks had declared that she had the wrong approach to the first slam tournament of the year due to too much pressure, is ready to take the court again to return to ringing successes like last season.
