Daniil Medvedev says there are many things he likes in the United States and especially how Americans drive on the roads. Medvedev is a big car lover and he suggests driving in the United States is a more pleasant experience than it is in Europe or in at least some parts of Europe.
After beating Frances Tiafoe in the Indian Wells semifinal, Medvedev was asked how he feels about the United States and their culture. The United States is a very special place for Medvedev, who became a Grand Slam champion after beating Novak Djokovic in the 2021 US Open final.
Medvedev on what he likes in the United States
“So yeah, there are many things I like in the US and for sure there are some times, sometimes it’s tough to be away from home. Honestly we could speak about this for an hour, which things exactly I like, which things I don’t like.
I think people in the US generally drive great, and since I like cars, they keep their line great. In Europe, I don’t know, for whatever reason, at least in France, people sometimes swerve. Maybe it’s the phone, they are on the phone or something.
I hate it. So I love it in the US. But I could speak for an hour what I like or what I don’t like, but in general I like coming to the US I play good here. Usually Indian Wells, Miami was a tough swing for me, so now great in Indian Wells, so loving it even more (smiling),” Medvedev said.
Also, Medvedev noted that not everyone enjoys experiencing a different culture. As an example, Medvedev revealed his wife was once having a lunch in Monte Carlo when a group of American people got annoyed because there wasn’t burger on the menu. But Medvedev enjoys the United States and their culture.
