Foreign players complain about court conditions in Syed Modi International



Several International players talked about the weird court conditions before the start of the Syed Modi India International Tournament in Lucknow which is a BWF World Tour Super 300 tournament.

Players took to the social media platform Instagram to complain about birds flying in the court regularly and the presence of bird droppings on the court.

Danish men’s doubles player Frederik Soegard posted a story on Instagram displaying the presence of bird droppings on the court.

2022 Commonwealth Games mixed doubles champion Wei Han Jessica Tan took to Instagram to complain about the birds flying in the court and the hall being a little foggy due to the presence of dust.

Named after the legendary Indian badminton player Syed Modi, the Super 300 tournament is being conducted in Babu Banarasi Das Indoor Stadium in Lucknow.

Syed Modi International is part of the HSBC BWF World Tour and is the 34th tournament on the way to the World Tour finals.

The tournament has seen some prestigious champions in the past such as PV Sindhu, Carolina Marin, Kidambi Srikanth, Saina Nehwal, and current Indian doubles coach Mathias Boe winning the title.

Indian challenge will be lead by Kidambi Srikanth in the tournament as HS Prannoy and Lakshya Sen decided to pull out of the tournament at the last moment citing the hectic schedule of the world tour.
