In the latest ITA doubles rankings released on Wednesday, the Monarch duo of Younes Lalami and Brandon Perez were ranked number 36 Wisconsin, holds a 5-1 record with their lone loss to Old Dominion on the road. The Badgers also boast a ranked doubles team, as their duo of Gabriel Huber and Michael Minasyan are currently ranked 21st in the country according to the ITA.

Head coach Bobby Reynolds explained: “It was a thrilling win that will be key when we look back at the end of the season, where you have that fork in the road where you go one way or the other. Fortunately, our guys came out and showed up, and I hope that pushes us along the path we expected at the start of the year.

It was a must win against a team I thought we had been very good against. The emotional side of taking two tough defeats at Winston-Salem means that You never know how these guys are going to react, but I was very happy with how they responded on Sunday.

We faced both of these teams last year, and they were both very close games and both will do well indoors. With ODU, they make up a couple of guys got hurt last year so we have to be prepared for that and for conditions a little quicker than we are used to at Yarbrough.

Just a matter of playing a little more physically instead of playing for a longer point. Same with Wisconsin, they will be good throughout the lineup. They are solid. That’s how I see our team too, and that will make the game fun.”
